AutoGrip-T, self-service racket regripping
The club where nobody plays on a worn grip
AutoGrip-T regrips a tennis racket in moments, no staff needed. We place it in your lobby at no cost and keep it stocked. Your club earns a share of sales.
Prototype under contract, production path priced. The first machines are coming to UK clubs.
Tennis in numbers
- 5 to 15 hrs of play before a tennis grip wears out Our research
- 5.8m adults played tennis in Britain, the highest figure recorded LTA Annual Report 2025
- 13.4% of Great Britain's population plays tennis, highest anywhere ITF Global Tennis Report 2024
- 106m people play tennis worldwide, up from 84m in 2019 ITF Global Tennis Report 2024
The problem
Your members are regripping in the car park
A grip lasts 5 to 15 hours of play, and a hand regrip takes 5 to 15 minutes (our research). Assuming someone with a steady hand is around and the pro shop is open. On a Tuesday night, neither usually is.
So your members play on slipping grips. The competitive ones queue for the stringer or wrap a racket badly in the car park. Your coaches regrip a bag of rackets by hand before every session, on time you're paying for.
The member who needs a fresh grip usually needs a new tube of balls too, and meets the same locked door. That's two sales your club could have made. Multiply it by every evening the shop is shut.
-
Members play on slipping grips
A grip is done after a few sessions. Plenty of people play on it anyway, because changing it is a faff.
-
Staff time you can't spare
A coach regripping a bag of rackets before a session is a coach not coaching. That's every week, all season.
-
No pro shop, no sale
About half of UK clubs have no pro shop (our research). The grip and the tube of balls get bought elsewhere.
Inside AutoGrip-T
Slot the racket in. Take it back freshly wrapped.
AutoGrip-T strips the old grip and wraps the new one in moments, then sells a tube of balls. Six systems inside. Our technician restocks it from the front. Your staff never touch it.
-
Precision applicator
Strips the old grip and wraps the new one at uniform tension and overlap, end to end. Under-grip or over-grip, any racket handle.
-
Grip magazine
Modular cartridges carry several brands and thicknesses, each in a choice of colours. Swap a cartridge and the range changes.
-
Ball vend
Tubes of balls for every level, dispensed alongside the grip. Nobody drives home because the shop was shut.
-
Touchscreen menu
Brand, thickness, colour, left or right hand. Multi-language, with help guides on screen, so nobody at the desk gets asked how it works.
-
Contactless payment
Tap a card or phone, or scan a QR code, then take the racket back. The machine sells goods and a service, nothing else.
-
Cloud dashboard
Live usage, stock levels, machine health and sales, per machine and per site. We see when it needs restocking before your members do.
How it works
Insert, choose, wrap, pay. Then play.
The player does everything at the machine, old grip still on. No appointment and no preparation. Your front desk doesn't get involved.
-
Insert
Handle into the bay with the old grip still on. Nothing to strip off first and nothing to bring.
-
Choose
Under-grip or over-grip. Then brand, thickness, colour and left or right hand on the touchscreen. Add a tube of balls if wanted.
-
Wrap
The applicator removes the old grip and lays the new one evenly from cap to collar, the same every time. Moments, not minutes.
-
Pay
Tap a card or phone and take the racket back to court. Every sale is logged, and your club earns a share of it.
For clubs and academies
We don't sell machines. We place them.
Your club becomes the place where nobody plays on a worn grip. We own the machine and place it in your lobby. We keep it stocked and serviced. You pay nothing and earn a share of everything it sells.
Host a machine
-
Nothing to buy, nothing to run
NextMotion owns every machine. We install it and keep it stocked without your staff lifting a finger. If it breaks, that's on us.
-
Money from a square metre
Every grip and tube sold through the machine pays your club a share. It sells at seven on a Tuesday, when the shop can't.
-
Members play on fresh grips
A fresh grip and a tube of balls on site at any hour. Before the first lesson or after the last floodlit set.
-
A club that's got it sorted
Visitors and new members notice what's in the lobby. A machine that regrips a racket on a Sunday evening says something about the place.
What hosting involves
- A square metre of floor in the lobby or clubhouse
- One conversation about where it sits and who we talk to
- An agreed share of every grip and tube of balls sold
- Players pay the machine direct, by card or phone
- Telling your members it's there
Players: your club should have one of these. Name it and we'll go and talk to them. Nominations shape where the first machines go.
Tell us your clubGrip and ball brands: the cartridges can carry your range, in front of players at the moment they need it. Use the form below.

Tennis now. The rest of your courts next.

The people
The people putting the first machines in clubs
Jose is the engineer who saw the gap. Gary owns the build and the numbers, Mark sells it. Decades of doing this for other people's companies, now for this one.
-
Jose Varela
Chief Executive Officer
Jose runs the company. Engineer by training, with a BSc in Automotive Systems Engineering, and more than a quarter of a century in enterprise technology running global teams and large accounts. He had the idea for AutoGrip-T on the side of a court, watching his son compete at elite level.
-
Gary Dobkins
Chief Operations Officer
Thirty years of business analysis and project delivery across eight countries in Europe and Africa. Gary owns the build and the numbers, from the prototype contract to the production path, and the sites once machines are in. If a cartridge runs short or a site needs a visit, it's his phone that rings.
-
Mark Aston
Chief Commercial Officer
Founder of Tied Consulting, with 20 plus years building sales operations from scratch. Mark leads sales and revenue from launch: the club placements first, then the brands whose grips go in the cartridges. He's the one who'll be in your lobby with a tape measure.
Where this started
Jose spent years on the side of tennis courts from the UK to South America, watching his son compete. The same scene played out everywhere. A worn grip and a shop that was shut, then a racket wrapped badly in a hurry. The best players in the world have someone to do it for them. Everyone else has a roll of tape and a car park. AutoGrip-T is the machine he wished had been in the lobby.
